(1) Graduation requirementsIn order to graduate from the doctoral program, the student must remain in this graduate school for three or more years, and receive the necessary research guidance from the academic advisor for thesis preparation. The student must also pass the doctoral thesis review, and the nal examination. Successful candidates will be conferred with a D.Phil. in Social Sciences.* Shortening graduation term of the Doctoral program is possible under the graduate school regulations.(2) ProgramAlthough the doctoral program does not require any courses to be taken, excepting for being required to take “Introduction to Reserch Ethics” course to applicate for the doctoral thesis, the student must receive the necessary research guidance from the academic advisor, and carry out his or her own research activities. Therefore, sufcient time must be allotted for research and to complete the doctoral thesis. However, with the permission of the academic advisor, the student may take lectures from the Master’s program, if necessary for research purposes. The goal is to promote doctorate conferment within the standard three-year program period.
