My classmates had interesting backgrounds as well. Some were international students like me, and some were working for institutes like the World Bank or U.S. Department of State, so it was exciting to discuss issues with them and get to know new perspectives. I also had fun living in my dormitory, where I learnt about other cultures through everyday interactions with the other student residents. Through this program, my English skills improved, especially in writing. I even had one writing piece published on the newsletter of a famous worldwide circulated newspaper – and that piece was actually one of my writing assignments for a course at GWU. By being at GWU and in Washington D.C., I got to understand more about the American political scene, which is helpful for my thesis at Waseda. I’m also thankful for having many amazing and encouraging friends in the United States with whom I shared tons of great experiences and about whom I have many fond memories. My time and the people I met in Washington D.C. implanted in me a “can-do” attitude: I can do a lot of great things in my life, as long as I work smartly and try my best. I believe a new place with new people helps us to refresh our mind and come up with some new ideas, and Washington D.C. and GWU did that for me.http://www.cie-waseda.jp/en/United Kingdom・Department of International Relations, London School of Economics and Political Science (PhD Students Only)France・Ecole des hautes etudes en sciences socialesSwitzerland・Graduate Institute of International and Development StudiesBelgium・Free University of BrusselsGermany・Center for Digital Technology and Management at the Ludwig-Maximilians University and Technical University of Munich・Hertie School of Governance (MA Students Only)United States・Elliott School of International Affairs, The George Washington University (MA Students Only)Korea・College of Political Science and Economics, Korea University・Graduate School of International Studies, Korea University・Graduate School of International Studies, Seoul National University*China・School of International Relations and Public Affairs, Fudan University・School of International Studies, Peking University*Singapore・School of Social Sciences, Nanyang Technological University*Thailand・Faculty of Political Science, Chulalongkorn University・Faculty of Political Science, Thammasat University**EAUI Program Partner SchoolsTRAN Thi Thuc Huyen【Project Advisor】 HAYASE Shinzo【Partner University】 Elliott School of International Affairs, The George Washington University
