Michael Emmerich ProfessorMichael Emmerich received his Ph.D. in Japanese Literature from Columbia University. After being hired as Assistant Professor at the University of California, Santa Barbara, he moved to the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where he is now Professor.
