Japanese Language ( Center for Japanese Language is one of the largest Japanese language educational institutions in Japan, with over 300 courses on offer. We have eight levels of courses ranging from beginners, with no previous Japanese language experience, right up to advanced. In addition to general courses, students can also choose courses tailored for their purpose, such as reading, writing, speaking and listening, as well as society and culture. Particularly for those students who wish to work at a Japanese company in the future, achieving a high level of proficiency in Japanese while studying at the Center will open up a much wider range of opportunities. The Center also offers a broad selection of long- and short-term programs, even for non-matriculated visiting or part-time students.Japanese Language Program (6 months / 1 year)Eight different levels are structured to meet the needs of every Japanese language learner, Beginner to Advanced. Short-term Japanese Program (3 weeks / 6 weeks)The program, offered in summer and winter, caters mainly to the needs of elementary to intermediate level students. The courses help students develop basic proficiency in speaking, listening, reading and writing.Waseda Summer Session( University offers a four-week summer session for highly motivated international students at the undergraduate level. Students take part in English-taught courses which cover a variety of interests in the context of Japan and Asia. Optional Japanese classes are also available.Visiting researchersThe University accepts international scholars that would like to carry out research at Waseda. Visiting researchers can stay in Japan up to one year (MA students up to 90 days).
