Multicolor ATP indicators enable simultaneous visualization of subcellular ATP dynamics

A team of researchers from Waseda University, the University of Tokyo, the National University of Singapore, and Harvard University used single fluorescent proteins to develop multicolor adenosine triphospate (ATP) indicators, available in red, green, and blue (RGB-color) hues. The multicolor ATP indicators enable the simultaneous visualization of subcellular ATP dynamics in the cytoplasm and mitochondria of cells derived from mammals, plants, and worms.
