ICC Homestay Program 2016 (Niigata, Yamagata, Osaka and Oita)

What are your plans during Spring Vacation?

How about experiencing life in a Japanese household while seeing the beautiful Japanese countryside?

You can choose from 4 different prefectures! We recommend that you research each respective area, and find out what interests you before applying.
The conditions of each homestay also differ, so please read through the details carefully.

 

 

Homestay 1:     Niigata Prefecture (Hokuriku)

 

Period Mar. 4th (Fri) – 6th (Sun) (2 nights, 3 days)

Homestay 2:     Yamagata Prefecture (Tohoku)

 

Period March 11th (Fri) – 13th (Sun) (2 nights, 3 days)
(one night in a Japanese-style hot spring hotel; one night stay in a Japanese home)

Note This homestay includes a series of group activities such as snow-shoe trekking, snowmobiling, igloo making, horse riding, local cooking, and various other snow-country experiences.
An additional fee will apply for staying in an Japanese-style hotel/hot spring and special snow-wear rental (approx. 13,000 yen).

 

 

Homestay 3:     Osaka (Kinki)

General Infomation

 

Eligibility Waseda International Students
(It is recommended that participants have at least a basic understanding of Japanese in order to communicate with their homestay family)
Orientation ★Feb. 2nd (Tue), 12:30-1:00pm @ ICC lounge (Bldg. 3, 1F)
(Participation at the orientation is mandatory)
★If you cannot attend at this time, please consult with the ICC to see if special arrangements can be made.
Accommodation Free!
*Note that Yamagata Prefecture Homestay involves a fee of approx. 13,000 yen for staying in a ryokan and hot spring, as well as renting snow-wear.
Meals Breakfast and dinner will be provided by the host family.
Transportation Round trip cost of transportation to the homestay is the responsibility of the participant (more details will be provided to participants.)
*Be sure to check the cost of transportation to the location before you apply to make sure that you can afford it!
