Let's make Waseda a cleaner place!
Looking for volunteers to participate in the "Waseda 125th Anniversary Clean-up Project"

In cooperation with Shinjuku City, local residents and WAVOC, the ICC organizes a monthly "clean-up" of Takada-no-baba Station and its surrounding area. Since the project's inauguration in February 2007, many students, faculty and local residents have joined forces to make the Takada-no-baba area a cleaner place to study, work, live and play.
Suggested by participants of the monthly "clean-up" as a special project for the upcoming Waseda 125th anniversary event on October 21st, the students and faculty of Waseda and local residents will once join forces, this time to clean up Waseda.

On the day of the event, participants will assemble at the Okuma Memorial Tower at 7:00am. The ICC have prepared a special shirt for all participants to wear during the course of the activity (see design below). In the morning, we will clean-up mainly the area around the Nishi-Waseda Campus, and adjacent shopping arcade, for about an hour. After finishing, participants are invited to the ICC lounge to enjoy a delicious breakfast of complementary "Onigiri" rice-balls and tea. Interested participants are also encouraged to take part in the other related Waseda 125th anniversary events on the day, including viewing a live broadcast at the ICC of the anniversary memorial ceremony and enjoying the lively anniversary parade that will take place near the South Gate. In the afternoon, another "clean-up" activity will also take place on campus, which consists of separating trash collected from various events during the day.

Part 1:
Clean-up of Waseda, Breakfast @ ICC, Viewing of live broadcast of anniversary memorial ceremony
7:00am:
Assemble at Okuma Memorial Tower, collect shirt and cleaning tools,
break into groups to clean specified areas
7:15am: Speech from organizers, begin clean-up!
8:10am: Assemble back at Okuma Memorial Tower, morning clean-up complete!
(for participants not taking part in the afternoon activities, please return your shirt and cleaning tools)
8:20am: Complementary "Onigiri" rice-balls and tea breakfast @ ICC!
(1st Floor, Okuma Garden House (beneath the cafeteria)
9:20am: Viewing of live broadcast of pre-ceremony event @ ICC
10:00am: Viewing of live broadcast of anniversary memorial ceremony @ ICC
Part 2:
Viewing of parade, Collection of trash accumulated during parade
11:30am: Proceed to the South Gate to view parade
11:45am: Parade begins (after the parade finishes, clean-up of any left over trash)
12:00pm: Watch ceremony in front of Okuma Auditorium
Part 3:
Activity report, Separation of trash collected from various events, General clean-up of campus
12:15pm: Seperating trash collected from various events
3:15pm: Participation in the "activity report" (on the stage in front of Building 3)
6:00pm: Clean-up Project complete! (please return your t-shirt and cleaning tools)
