Q. Can I eat and drink at the ICC lounge?
A. You are free to enjoy drinks in the Exchange Area where white tables and chairs are located.
Q. What activities does ICC organize?
A. ICC organizes a variety of events and programs to facilitate cross-cultural exchange beyond borders. For example, Country Festas introduce cultures and life-styles of a specific country/region. Cafe series provide venues for discussion or informal talk under specific themes. Language Exchange matches international and local students so that they can teach their language and culture to each other. Friday Nite is an exciting evening event where you can enjoy students' performance (music, dance, magic, etc.) followed by an open cafe. Both local and international students can participate in ICC's Field Trips (one to three days). These are only a few examples, and there are many other events and programs.
Q. Can I also apply for a staff position at ICC?
A. ICC recruits new student staff whenever there is an opening, and all students of Waseda are welcome to apply. Also, we call for supporters for planning and organizing each event as needed. If you are interested, current supporter information is available here.
Q. What is the difference between Student Staff Leader and Supporter?
A. Student Staff Leader is part-time staff (paid position), whose tasks include office work, event planning, PR, organization, etc. Supporters are in principle on a volunteer basis and can work in several ways, such as creating event plans, preparing, coordinating or simply supporting the event on that day. The level of commitment is up to you and at any level, you can enjoy being part of the events more deeply rather than just being a participant! You can apply as many times as you like depending on your interest and personal schedule.
Q. Can I interact with local students if I come to ICC?
A. ICC's events and programs are usually attended by a mixed crowd of local and international students. Most local students who come are eager to learn about different cultures and to make friends with their international counterparts.
Q. Can you introduce some students from xxx (country)?
A. We do not provide such personal information of any students to protect privacy.?
Q. Can we post a poster of our club on the ICC bulletin board?

2. Other posters (event info. etc.): Please consult with the ICC staff at our information counter.
Q. Can I borrow some "Chikyu no Arukikata" guidebooks of the Information Area?

Q. I am not a student of Waseda University. Can I join ICC events?
A. Some events are open to public, and others are not. Please refer to the "eligibility" specification in the event information.
Q. What are the differences between CIE (Center for International Education) and ICC (International Community Center)?
A. CIE conducts administrative procedures, provides information and services for international students. They also overview local students' study abroad programs. ICC provides cross-cultural events and programs where both international and local students can participate and enjoy together. CIE and ICC sometimes collaborate for joint events.
Q. Can I introduce my country/a specific topic at ICC?
What should I do?
A. Please do not hesitate to contact our staff and we can discuss whether/how it is possible to organize your event/activity. We are looking forward to your ideas.
