Dance Nite "Flamenco Ole!"

On Thursday, December 6th the ICC was set alight with a scorching Flamenco performance courtesy of Waseda University’s sole Flamenco student circle “Flamenco Group iVAMOS!”.
As the first part in a two part series on the Mediterranean, the ICC Dance Nite “Flamenco Ole!” began with an informative presentation on the origins of Flamenco, followed by an introduction on iVAMOS!’s various events and activities.
The highlight of the evening was of course the impressive Flamenco performance, which included a variety of dances, songs, and costumes, and was performed to live “Toque” (guitar), percussion and "Cante" (song). Guests were also treated to a brief lesson in “Jaleo” (cheering), and following the performance many guests also took to the dance floor to experience Flamenco for themselves! Thanks again to iVAMOS! for making this exciting evening of dance and culture possible. We hope to see you at the next ICC Dance Nite!

Important elements of Flamenco include of course guitar and vocal.
Flamenco Group iVAMOS! impresses the crowd.
A participant recieves a "Baile" (dance) lesson.
