Awa Odori with the Tokushima Student Tomonkai

Awa Odori is a Japanese summer dance originated in the Tokushima prefecture more than 400 years ago. The Awa Odori festival is held on every August in Tokushima. Now, it is worldwide known as a passionate dance similar to Rio's Carnival. In 2006, over 1.200.000 visitors came to Tokushima to see this festival.
Tokushima Student Tomonkai ? a group of Waseda students who are from Tokushima ? take part in the festival every year as a "Waseda-Ren".(each dance group is called as "Ren") with students from other universities.First, there was time to relax, have a coffee, some biscuits and chat with some fellow students. Then, the students from the Tokushima Student Tomonkai showed us how to dance the Awa Odori. Some of the international students saw this dance for the first time. But inspired by the performance, we soon danced altogether the Awa Odori dance.

It's so fantastic world!
Now you've got it!
Let's dance together!
