Talk & Visit Series: "Refugees and Japan"


How much do you know about refugees in Japan?

 

Japan has been criticized that its policies to support refugees are among the worst out of all developed countries. Recently, the Japanese government's policies for refugees have been gradually improving, but we still need to pay more attention to the plight of refugees in Japan. Through this event we will discuss how Japan and the world should deal with refugees.

Guest speaker: Hikaru Kozuki (UNHCR)
Visit Session: "Coming to Japan: A First-Hand Account"
Meet a refugee from Southeast Asia, and discuss issues relating to
refugees in Japan, over lunch.

★What is "Talk & Visit"?
After listening to a lecture by a specialist in the field,
participants then make an actual visit to a related institution,
organization or company.
