Work Cup
Wanted! Global Reporters
Questioning Work Values Around the World


Embarking on a new journey, facing new challenges, setting new goals...
What aspirations do you have for your future career? How important is one's academic background? What does it mean t o be a "productive member of society2? Take this opportunity to find out more about global work values.

 

◆Program Outline
(1) Each team (5 students per team) research the work values of an assigned country and produce a short (8-10 mins) video report of their findings.
(2) Each team will be assigned an "academic advisor" (Waseda Uni. faculty members).
(3) Each team will present their completed video report to the public (see below for details).


◆Eligibility
All students (undergraduate/graduate)


◆Requirements
(1) Ability to commit oneself to the entire project.
(2) Participation in the "Workcamp" to be held on October 10th – 11th.


◆Capacity
35 students (7 team× 5 members)
Each team will consist of both Japanese students and international students.

In the case of a large number of applicants, successful participants will be

decided based on application documents.

      
◆Language  
The working language of each team will be decided as either Japanese or English,

however the documentary must be bilingual (Japanese/English). You can specify

your prefered language when registering.

Asia-Pacific/ Europe / North-America / South-America/ Middle-East / Africa / Japan

 

◆Video Report Presentation (Work Cup)
December 11th (Fri), 2009


Student Presentations: 1:00 - 2:30pm
Takeshi Okada Talk Session: 2:45 - 4:00pm
Takeshi Okada is the current manager of the Japan national football team, and also a Waseda alumnus.
Award Ceremony: 4:00 - 4:15pm


◆Preparation Period
September 7 - 30 (Wed): Application period
October 2nd (Fri): Result announcement
October 10th (Sat) – 11th (Sun): Workcamp; Begin research together with "academic advisor".
Early Nov.: First progress report       
Late Nov.: Second (final) progress report


◆Workcamp
October 10th (Sat) ∼11th (Sun)
Activities include brain-storming, debate, discussion, research methods workshop,

group work, etc (tentative).
* Location: Oku-chichibu, Saitama Prefecture
* Participation fee: around 3,600 yen (tentative). (subsidized sum)
