Sumo Excursion
Sumo wrestling is the national sport of Japan, and also an extremely popular spectator sport. Take advantage of this opportunity to watch real sumo in the Ryogoku Kokugikan Arena with local students and alumni... for free! (kindly note that participants are responsible for their own transportation costs to and from the venue). This activity was kindly made possible thanks to the generosity of TWN (Tohmon Women's Network: Waseda Women's Alumni Association) and Meiji Shrine.
*Important: Please read through the following details (and also check your class schedule) before registering.
Date & Time: Oct. 6th, 2008 (mon), 12:30 - 3:30pm
Place: Ryogoku Kokugikan

Meeting Time & Place: 12:00am at the West Exit of the JR Ryogoku Station
on the Sobu Line
Eligibility: All Waseda Students who do not have 2nd, 3rd,
and 4th period classes on Monday
Capacity: 33
*In the case of a large number of applicants, a random lottery drawing
will be held to determine participants. Results will be annouced by
email on Sept. 25th (thu), so please make sure that your email account
storage is not over quota.
Fees: Free!
(lunch and transportation costs to and from the venue are the
responsibility of the participant)
Registration period: Sept. 22nd (mon) - 24th (wed)

Please note:
* Seats have been reserved on the 2nd floor of the arena.
* Lunch can be purchased at the venue, however for participants with
special dietary requirements it is recommended to bring your own lunch.
* Participants are required to complete a short questionnaire at the venue.
* A representative from the TWN and the ICC will be taking photos during the
event, to be used for publicity purposes.
This Sumo tournament event is organized by TWN (Tohmon Women's Network: Waseda
Women's Alumni Association) and the ICC.
