No-Border Camp in OKINAWA
~Leave your nationality at the door~

ICC's popular No-Border Camp is back, and going to OKINAWA!

Don't miss your chance to visit this very unique region of Japan,

while making new friends and challenging yourself at the same time!

No-Border Camp Concept

“He’s like that because he’s from XXX”
“I don’t do that because I’m from XXX”

Have you ever felt typecast or restricted because of your nationality or cultural heritage?
Even when interacting within multi-ethnic situations, people have a tendency to unconsciously pigeonhole each other based on where they are from.

Why do we put up borders in such a way?
What does “nationality” really mean, anyway?
Throw away tired stereotypes and join us in the “No-Border Camp”,

where like minded individuals will ponder such questions while taking part in fun

and thought-provoking group activities.

The concept is simple. For the duration of the camp, don’t ask about each others’ nationality.

We also ask participants to use a special nickname especially for this camp, to avoid people guessing where you are from based on your real name.

Together with fellow Waseda students from a variety of backgrounds, join us for five action packed days in Okinawa filled with fun games and team building activities, outdoor cooking and campfires, and thought provoking discussions on the subject of identity.

Leave your nationality at the door. Welcome to the “No-Border Camp”!!
