No-Border Camp
～Leave your nationality at the door～

Have you ever felt typecast or restricted
because of your nationality or cultural heritage?
Even when interacting within multi-ethnic situations,
people have a tendency to unconsciously pigeonhole
each other based on where they are from.
Why do we put up borders in such a way? What does “nationality” really mean, anyway?
Throw away tired stereotypes and join us in the “No-Border Camp”, where like minded individuals will ponder such questions while taking part in fun and thought-provoking group activities.
The concept is simple. For the duration of the camp, don’t ask about each others’ nationality. We also ask participants to use a special nickname especially for this camp, to avoid people guessing where you are from based on your real name.
Leave your nationality at the door. Welcome to the “No-Border Camp”!!

*In the case of a large number of applications a random lottery
will be held to decide participants, with the results being announced by
email on Wed, October 2nd. Successful applicants are kindly requested
to pay their participation fee by Monday, October 6th.
Participation fee: 4,500 yen (scheduled)
Included in the participation fee: Round trip transportation from Waseda (charted coach), 7 meals ,
all activities included in the schedule
