Currently accepting event proposals for "ICC North American Festival"

Please give us your ideas & suggestions!
Since opening its doors in 2006, the ICC has introduced a wide range of countries and regions through its popular "Country Festival" series. You might be familiar with our "Japanese Festival" which we hold twice a year for newly arrived international students, to help them become better accustomed to Japanese culture and life at Waseda.
The average length of an ICC "Country Festival" is usually around 1 to 2 weeks. However with "North American Festival" we have decided to increase the time span to a whole term period (April through July) in order to enable us to hold a wide range of events and activities!
That's where YOU come in! We want your ideas and suggestions on how to make this Country Festival featuring US, Canada, and Mexico, the best yet! Possible event themes could include such topics as politics, economics, history, popular culture, nature, sports, food, music, travel... the sky really is the limit! We look forward to receiving all of your interesting ideas! Read on for more details...

|---|
Feel free to submit your event proposals even if you can't come to the above session.
◎Submission Deadline: April 25th (fri)
Event proposals submitted after the deadline may also be considered, however the sooner we receive your proposals the better (please note that not all event proposals may be suitable).
◎Event Period: April through July, 2008
After we receive your event proposal, we will discuss the fine details with you and decide whether your event will be feasible or not. If your event proposal gets the go-ahead, we will then discuss whether you will need to recruit extra support members to help you with the planning process and actual running of the event, and decide the actual date of the event.
◎Eligibility: Waseda students, faculty and staff members
●Event Proposal to Actualization : A Rough Time Frame
1. We receive your event proposal
2. We discuss the feasibility of your event
3. Recruitment of extra event support members (if required)
4. Preparation and planning (eg: approaching potential sponsors, advertising for the event, organizing the actual running of the event, borrowing equipment as required, etc)
5. The day of the event!
6. Tying up any loose ends after completion of the event (writing event reports, and sending thank you letters to sponsors and organizations, etc)
Note: With previous Country Festival events at the ICC, after first recruiting event supporters, we have then accepted event proposals. However, this time we are first accepting event proposals, and then will be recruiting support members later. If you would like to be involved as a support member, we will be sending out more information as it becomes available, so please keep your eyes peeled.
Application Process:
Please fill out the event proposal form available from the link below, and submit the completed form in person or by email to the ICC. Even if you are not completely sure of your event proposal, the ICC staff are happy to discuss it with you so only fill out as much of the form as you can. You can apply as an individual, or with your friends as a group.
