Japanese Festival (September 2008) Looking for Event Supporters!
Classes and final exams are almost coming to an end for this term, and the joyful summer vacation is just around the corner. Have you already decided your schedule during summer vacation? Though it is quite a long vacation, it will pass in an instant. So, do any of the following things interest you?
- Making new friends with local and international students
through working together?
- Sharing your fresh and exciting ideas for an event at the ICC?
- Learning more about Japanese culture?
- Becoming a "senpai" for newly arriving international students
by sharing your knowledge and experience of living in a foreign
country?
If any of these things sound good to you, become an event supporter by joining us in the planning, organizing, and coordinating of the ICC's Japanese Festival! The Japanese Festival is an event organized at the start of every semester to welcome new international students.
Some of you may have attended a Japanese Festival in the past; now it's your chance to get involved and help organize the events and activities! As an international student, you must remember how you felt during your first day at Waseda; we hope you will join us in making the next Japanese Festival the best ever! If you are interested, please attend one of the information sessions below:
Info Session (1) 4:30- 5:00pm Jul 25th (fri)
Info Session (2) 12:20-12:50pm Jul 30th (wed)
Info Session (3) 2:00- 2:30pm Aug 4th (mon)
*The contents of each info session are exactly the same.
*Registration is not required
*If you are unable to attend one of the above sessions but
are still interested in becoming a supporter, please send us
an email before Jul 25th (fri) to japanese-festa@list.waseda.jp
with [Request for individual JF Supporter Information Session]
in the subject heading, containing the following information:
- full name
- student ID
- contact phone number
- unavailable time during 7/26～31
(excluding Sunday) 11:00am～6:00pm
*The length of individual information sessions is around 30
minutes. Please also kindly note that you cannot specify the
time of the individual information sessions.
Place: ICC (1st Fl., Okuma Garden House)
Eligibility: Waseda students, faculty and staff members
Registration: Not required
Note) 1. The purpose of these info sessions is to give you a better
idea of how the festival works, and the roles of supporters;
attending one will not obligate you to anything.
2. Many ICC event supporters participate by themselves, but in
the end make many new friends and really enjoy the experience.
Please do not hesitate to participate by yourself.
What is an ICC event supporter?
Tasks of being a supporter range from project planning and
preparation to actually running the events. You can choose to
join a specific event or part of an event depending on the time
you can devote and where your interest lies.
Supporters' Activity Period: Beginning of August to end of September
Period of Festival: Sep 24th (wed) - 30th (tue)
Place: International Community Center, 1st Fl. Okuma Garden House

1. Cafe
2. Performance
3. One-day trip to a selected location in or nearby Tokyo
4. Art
