[Notice] Please come to the GSAPS Office or send a written request by mailed letter. Request by telephone or e-mail are not acceptable.

How to Apply at GSAPS Counter

Be sure to bring

  • Photo ID (driver's license card, passport, etc.)
  • Certificate Fees (300 yen per copy)

Applications can be made during the office hour. Issuance within the day.

How to Apply by Postal Mail

Please send the following Items to the GSAPS office.

1. Free-style Application form that indicates:
your GSAPS Student Number, **
your full name,
your birthday (year / month / day),
year of entrance, **
year of graduation, **
program attended,
type of certificates and numbers,
whether the certificates should be sent in a sealed and signed envelope,
your day time contact telephone number
your e-mail address
** Please indicate if you can recall it.
2. Copy of your photo ID
such as driver's license card and passport
3. Certificate fees: 300 yen per copy.
<Application By Domestic Mail>
Please purchase a Teigaku Kogawase(定額小為替) at the post office and enclose it with your application.
<Application From Outside Japan>
Please purchase a "Postal International Money Order" at the post office and enclose it with your application. Only if a "Postal International Money Order"  is not available, please send an "International Reply Coupon (IRC) " purchasable at the post office.  1IRC is equivalent to 130 yen in Japan.
4. Return Mail Envelope with your address and postage
<Application by Domestic Mail>

For postage, please enclose Japanese stamps along with a self-addressed envelope.
If you want to use Express  for return mail, please indicate.
If the fee goes over, we will return the excess by Japanese stamps.

<Application From Outside Japan>

If you want to use EMS (Express Mail Service)  for return mail, please indicate.
If the fee goes over, we will return the excess by Japanese stamps.

※Please confirm the necessary postage at the post office.

How to Apply by proxy

For the purpose of protection of personal information, Waseda University issues certificates based on the request made by the person designated on the certificate only. However, exception will be made only if the proxy brings the following items at the GSAPS counter:

  • a free-style application form (see above)
  • a written and signed consent of the person
  • a copy of photo ID both of the person and the proxy
  • certificate fee: 300 yen per copy

FAQ

Does the transcript indicate the grade point average (GPS)?
No it does not.
Does the transcript indicate the F (fail) mark?
No it does not.
How do grades appear on a transcript?
For those who entered GSAPS until academic year 2005: Grades will be stated as A, B and C. A+ or B+ on grade report will appear as A or B.
For those who entered GSAPS in or after academic year 2006: Grades will be stated as A+, A, B, C on a transcript.
Does the transcript indicate graduation date?
No. It indicates entrance date only.
Does the certificate indicate a birthday?
Yes it does.
How does my name appear on English certificates?
In principle, your name in alphabets registered at a time of your entrance procedures will appear on certificates.
