Cornell University
Anthropology
Ph.D. in Anthropology
Greetings!
My seminars offer a framework from which students can explore topics related to the socio-cultural anthropology of Japan in particular or other Asia-Pacific regions. My research interests focus on gender, workplace, migration, and population related issues, and I welcome students with similar interests. Please take a look at my M.A. and PhD seminar listings. For the Ph.D. level, native English ability or a TOEFL score of 600 or above, and native Japanese language ability or a Japanese proficiency test (日本語能力試験) score of Level 1, and an academic background in Anthropology or Sociology, are highly recommended. Waseda is a dynamic university with students from all over the world coming to study together. I hope my students will take advantage of all this setting has to offer.
Please note I will be on sabbatical leave abroad from 15 August 2006 for one year' s duration. |
