Outline :

Nikkei Inc., which is expanding its business operations in Southeast Asia by launching the Nikkei Asian Review, an English-language business publication, and opening its regional office for Asia in Singapore, and the Graduate School of Asia-Pacific Studies (GSAPS) of Waseda University will jointly organize a seminar entitled the “Nikkei Asian Review Forum / Waseda Global Asia Seminar” focusing on business in Southeast Asia.

The seminar will consist of two sessions. The first session will feature Ms. Demirkan Mine, the chief strategy officer of AEON, which has been rapidly expanding its business operations in Southeast Asia. Ms. Mine will discuss AEON’s business strategy in Asia as well as the skills and attributes generally required for professional success in the field of business.

In the second session, Ms. Kyoko Kimura, the senior staff writer of Nikkei Inc. and editor of the Nikkei Asian Review, will introduce important recent developments in the Southeast Asian economy to the audience by drawing upon Nikkei Asian Review articles. In the Q&A session, audience members will have a chance to ask Ms. Mine to share her own experience in business and career development and Ms. Kimura to comment on various aspects of journalistic writing in English.       

The seminar welcomes students from Southeast Asia as well as students who are interested in business in the region and aspiring to pursue an international career in the future.
