Is the Department of Semiotical Engineering a place to study science and engineering or a place to develop a work of art?

表現工学科には、工学系と、アート・デザイン系の教員が配置されているので、「表現のための科学技術開発」 と「アート・デザイン創作」の両面から学ぶことができます。例えば、音響工学者と作曲家、画像処理の専門家とCG・映像作家などが、互いに協力し合って新しい表現方法を考えていきます。つまり両方とも可能です。

Our department has experts from the fields of engineering, art, and design. Therefore, you can study both science and technology as well as art and design production. For example, you can study in an environment where sound engineers, composers, and experts in image processing and computer graphics can work together to develop new and exciting ways of expression.

What will I learn in the “Careers Planning” course?

学生が、「やりたいこと」と「やれること」を見極め、個性に合わせて、（職業選択も含む）進路、進度、方法などを決めたり、チェックするために必要な個人面談やゼミ形式の科目です。

Our department supports students in their career choices through a course called “Career Planning.” This course is composed of seminars and individual career interviews, where students’ individual talents and skills can be evaluated and their most suitable career path determined.

What will I achieve as a result of project-based learning?

例えば「インターネット放送運営」、「番組制作」、「音楽制作」といった、具体的なプロジェクトに参加し、研究したり、制作したりします。これらのプロジェクトは、学年を超え、場合によっては大学院や企業とも連携して進められます。

As part of project-based learning you will be able to participate in and research about many exciting areas of the field, including Internet broadcast administration, media program creation, and music production. Projects often extend across academic years and in some cases even involve collaboration with graduate school and company departments.

Is there a graduate school of intermedia art and science?
