Introduction
- Ph. D. (University of Washington, USA)
- I myself have been a foreign student in a graduate school in USA in six years. With the dream and experience of the young days in mind, I wish to contribute to the research and education of the hopeful students.

Biomedical Optics
I have been working in the field of biomedical application of optical techniques. Near-infrared light has relatively high transmission through an animal body and no biological hazard in a regular biomedical use. It is suitable for biomedical measurement and imaging, and has been applied to the noninvasive transillumination imaging and physiological measurement. When we illuminate the near-infrared light to body tissue, it is strongly scattered. Therefore, we can overcome common limitations and open new applications by controlling the scattering phenomenon with the basis of theoretical analysis. Our attempt to develop new optical applications includes; the noninvasive measurement of blood triglyceride level, the transillumination imaging of animal body, the optical CT, the optical body-area-network and the optical biometric authentication.
