Institute for Advanced Studies in Education

The Institute for Advanced Studies in Education was established in 1998, incorporating the former Center for Advanced Studies in Education that was founded in 1986. The main objectives of the Institute are to drive basic and comprehensive studies forward and to contribute to the spread of education, which aims at the creation of a universally shared culture as well as the development of individual abilities, and to the development of educational science.

The Institute has 16 research groups. These research groups are divided into four sections: Section A, Section B, Section C and Section D. In Section A, each group studies designated basic themes in education. In Section B, each group, which was selected from among many applicants, researches individual themes. In Section C and D, each group studies the up-to-date, designated basic educational themes necessary for education in the future.
