“Waseda University’s 125th Anniversary Celebration”
On October 21, 2007, Waseda University marked the 125th anniversary of its founding. The 125th anniversary ceremony was held at the Memorial Hall with over 3,000 attendees. The ceremony was started with the oration by President Katsuhiko Shirai. After the speech by President Shirai, congratulatory addresses were given by honorary guests, such as, Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda, President of Keio University Dr. Yuichiro Anzai, President of University of California Dr. Robert C. DYNES, Rector of University of Bonn Dr. Matthias Winiger, and Vice President of Peking University Dr. Sulan Yue.
