The Concept of Asia Cyber College (ACC)

- Establishment of the university and its management model essential for the future -

Looking at the outlook for the world economy in the 21st century, one may expect the hegemony of the U.S. to weaken while Asia's global presence grows in leaps and bounds.
Crucial factors in Asia include an abundant, young and vibrant workforce, high development potential, and a positive stance towards the introduction of foreign capital and technology. This region is widely anticipated to exhibit the most dynamic growth moving forward.
Movements towards regional economic integration in Asia are growing in intensity, and this includes efforts aimed at increased economic cooperation through debate regarding the formation of the East Asian Community, FTAs and so forth. However, due to the great level diversity in Asia, integration will not be quite as easy as it is for the EU.
We believe that in order for Asia to exhibit growth on par with expectations, the development of leaders that will flourish in the Asian arena and guide the formation of an Asian community is a matter of great urgency.
The Asia Cyber College / Waseda (ACC/W) aims to develop a strong human foundation for the Asian community by networking together the various Asian countries and producing an abundance of Asian human resources that have practical abilities and that understand cultural diversity.

Curriculums Provided by the ACC/W

Development of courses based on the needs of corporations <-> Cooperation with Digital Campus Consortium (DCC) member corporations
Recognition of practical abilities by third-party organizations <-> Cooperation with the Accreditation Council for Practical Abilities (ACPA)
Mutual exchange and utilization of general education courses and foreign language courses between universities <-> Cooperation with the Forum for On-Demand Lecture Circulation (FOLC)

Curriculums that realize a fusion of research and development abilities cultivated at universities with the business needs of corporations
Efficiently develop and promote the utilization of Asia's human resources by going beyond the enhancement of skills related to technological developments and also including the know-how required to utilize human resources with these skills into curriculums
