すばらしい先生方との出会いが私の貴重な財産になっています
中国では電力の保守・点検をする仕事に従事していました。生活は安定していましたが、「もっと視野を広げ、政治や経済について勉強したい。自分を変えなければ…」という思いが強くなったんです。そこで一念発起、仕事をやめて日本へ行くことを決心しました。目指したのは政治も経済も学べる早稲田大学への留学です。
小さいころに日本の漫画に熱中し、二十歳に村上春樹の小説に共感していた自分にとって日本は親しみのある国。来日後は日本語学校へ通って一生懸命に勉強しましたが、通学の電車を利用してよく読んでいたのが新聞の社説です。自分なりの考え方を磨くのに有益で、政治経済学部の入試にも役立ちました。
学部の授業では、「哲学」の授業に感銘を受け、「フランス語」や「現代思想」「映像文化論」など興味深い授業がたくさんありました。ゼミでは森映雄教授の「ポスト・ケインジアンの貨幣理論」をとっていますが、森先生は親身になってサポートしてくれます。こうした先生方との出会いは私の貴重な財産です。就職は日本の企業に内定しています。将来は中国の現地法人で働き、金融のプロとして母国の発展に尽くしていくのが私の夢です。
Encounters with Great Teachers - My Treasure
I used to work for an electric power company in China in the maintenance and inspection section. My life was fairly stable, but I was beginning to feel that I had to broaden my views and study about politics and economics. I felt a strong urge to change myself. So I made a quantum jump. I decided to quit my job and go to Japan to study. The goal I set was to enter Waseda University where I could major in both Politics and Economics.
I grew up reading Japanese manga in childhood and felt sympathy for Murakami Haruki’s novels which I read at age 20, so Japan was the country I liked. After arriving in Japan, I attended a Japanese language school and studied hard. On my way to and from school, I kept reading the editorials of Japanese newspapers on the train. Editorials are very helpful to form my own thoughts, and also useful when I had to sit entrance examinations for the School of Political Science and Economics.
In my undergraduate studies, I was deeply impressed by philosophy classes. There were also many other interesting classes such as French Studies, Modern Thought, and Theory of Visual Culture. In the seminar project, I study under Professor Teruo Mori, who gives me great support in his Post Keynesian Monetary Theory course. Meeting these wonderful teachers has become my treasure. I have been offered a job at a Japanese company. In the future, my dream is to work for a local subsidiary in China and contribute to the development of my motherland, working as a financial expert.
