Admission Requirements 出願資格 |

「私は高校生ですが、出願資格はありますか」
I have just finished High School. Can I apply?
| A. |
出願に際しては、学士の学位を取得した者、または学士の学位取得見込み（日本の大学の学部に相当する過程に在籍中）である者に限られます。
本課程は大学受験の為のプログラムではありません。
Unfortunately, you are required to be an undergraduate (university student) or university graduate to apply for the program.
It is not a program for students who want to prepare for entering the universities. |

出願するにあたり、日本語能力は問いません。
There is no Japanese Language requirement. You can
apply for the course without the Japanese Language learning
experience. |

「日本語学校在学中に出願し、卒業後に入学することができますか」
Can I apply while I am at Japanese Language School?

出願条件を満たしていれば出願可能です。入学が許可された場合は、入国管理局にてご自身でビザの資格を変更する手続きが必要です。
You can apply as long as you qualify the requirements.
Once you are admitted, you must go to the immigration office to change your visa status by yourself.

How do I apply?

別科日本語専修課程に出願するためにはいくつか方法があります。
There are a few ways to apply for the Intensive Japanese Language Program.

個人（私費）で出願する。
Applying as an independent (fee-paying) student |
 |
個人で申請する場合は、別科日本語専修課程入試要項
 に従い、出願してください。
When applying independently, please read "Guide to Intensive Japanese Language Program"
carefully and submit all application documents to Center for Japanese Language in prescribed application period.

交換留学生として出願する。
Applying as an exchange student |
|
|
早稲田大学と交換留学協定を結んでいる大学にいる場合は、交換留学生としてこのプログラムに申請できる可能性があります。
交換留学についての詳しい情報は、
早稲田大学留学センターのホームページ でご確認ください。
If your university has an academic exchange agreement with Waseda university, you have a chance to apply for
the program as an exchange student. For more information regarding the exchange program, please check the website of
Center for International Education
of Waseda University.

国費外国人留学生として出願する。
Applying as a Japanese government (MEXT) scholarship student |
|
|
国費外国人留学生（文部科学省）として出願する場合は、あなたの国の日本国大使館または領事館にお問い合わせください。
もし、日本政府から奨学金が認められたら、ご自身で大学に申請する必要はありません。文部科学省が日本の大学への入学を手配
してくれます。ただし、どの大学に入学したいかの希望を出すことはできますが、その決定は文部科学省に委ねられます。
If you would like to apply for the Japanese government (MEXT) scholarship, please make contact with the Japanese
Embassy or Consulate in your country. If you are granted the Japanese Government Scholarship, it is not necessary for
you to apply for a university by yourself. The Ministry of Education will arrange your entrance to a Japanese
university. However, in this case, even though you can send the list of the universities you want to enter,
the Ministry of Education will determine your admission after the negotiation with the universities.

「出願書類の入手方法を教えてください」
How can I obtain an application form?

国内出願・国外出願を問わず、入試要項一式 はホームページからダウンロードできます。
入試要項を含む出願書類の郵送は行いませんのでご了承ください。
特別な事情により、どうしてもダウンロードできない場合は、日本語センターへご相談ください。
なお、そのことによる出願期間の延長等特別措置はとりませんので、予めご了承ください。
Application documents are available online.
Please obtain them by downloading from our web site. We will not send the applications by mail.
In the event, if you cannot download the application documents, please contact us at Center for Japanese Language in advance.

「出願するために、保証人は必要ですか」
Do I need a guarantor to apply?
| A. |
別科日本語専修課程に出願にあたり、保証人は必要ありません。ただし、入学手続時には、入学予定者の年齢に関わらず、また自ら学費を
支払う場合でも、保証人が必要になります。
A guarantor is not necessary at the application for Intensive Japanese Language Program. Upon the admission procedure,
you will need to have a guarantor regardless of your age or even if you are paying school expenses by yourself.

「卒業証明書・在学証明書・成績証明書・出願者評価は、『願書』とは別送で大学
から直接郵送しても良いですか」
Can "Certificate of Graduation", "Certificate of Enrollment", "Transcripts of records of university", "Evaluation Form" be sent
directly from my university to your office, Center for Japanese Language Office, separately to my application forms?

必ず他の出願書類と一緒にお送りください。証明書の取得には時間がかかる場合がありますので、余裕を持って準備してください。
All application documents should be sent together in one envelope. As for preparing the certificate, it may take sometime
to obtain all necessary documents, thus please make sure to have enough time for preparation of the documents.

| 3-1. |
「入学願書を日本語センターに送りましたが、届いたかどうか知りたいです。」
How can I confirm that the center has received my application documents?
| A. |
当センターで入学願書を受理した出願者には、全員に出願書類受理通知メール（E-mail）を送付いたします。送付日程は入試要項をご覧ください。
We will send "Application Receipt Notice (E-mail)" to all applicants after we receive the application documents.

「合否の結果は、いつ頃どのようにして知ることができますか。」
When and how can I know the screening result?
| A. |
合否はオンラインレジストレーションに入力された住所宛てに発送します。なお、合否に関するお問い合わせには一切応じられませんのでご了承ください。
Applicants will be notified directly of
the results of screening by mail. The notification
will be sent to the address written in
the online registration on the following date.
Please note that we will not answer for any
inquiries regarding the screening results.

「ビザの手続き方法を教えてください」
How do I obtain a visa?
| A. |
日本に入国する外国人志願者は有効なパスポートを保持し、ビザを取得する必要があります。ビザを申請する際、
パスポートとともに在留資格認定証明書を出身国の日本国大使館あるいは領事館に提出しなければなりません。
早稲田大学は法務省入国管理局への在留資格認定証明書の代理申請を行っています。なお、入国管理局は書類の
追加を要請する場合があるのでご了承ください。必要書類の提出については、合格者に合格通知と一緒にお送りします。
When you are enrolled at the Waseda University, you will need to possess a valid passport and a valid VISA.
Upon application of visa, an applicant is required to submit a "Certificate of Eligibility" together with his/her
passport to a Japanese embassy or consulate in his/her own country. For the students who are enrolled at the
Intensive Japanese Language Program, Waseda University acts as a proxy to obtain the Certificate of Eligibility from
the Immigration Bureau of the Ministry of Justice. Please note that in some cases the Immigration Bureau may require
additional materials. We'll inform regarding to the submitting the application documents for COE to the successful
applicants only with the result of the screening.

「宿舎についてのサポートはありますか」
Is there any support for housing?

残念ながら、個人で出願された学生に対する宿舎提供はおこなっておりません。ご自身で宿舎を探していただくことになります。
合格者には、学生寮やホームステイについての情報をご案内いたしますので、ご自身でお問い合わせの上で申し込み手続き等を行ってください。
We do not have any support for housing for independent (privately funded) students. Students are requested to
secure an accommodation by him/herself. We will send information about dormitory and homestay program for successful
applicants. Please contact to the applicable office directly for further procedures.

Is there a scholarship?

残念ながら、別科日本語専修課程の学生が受給可能な奨学金はほとんどありません。したがって、志願者は出願前に勉学及び生活に
十分な資金を用意しなければなりません。
There is very few scholarships available for students of Intensive Japanese Language Program.
So before applying for the program, applicants are required to have enough funds to cover your cost for school and life in Japan.

「別科卒業生の卒業後の進路は、どうなっていますか」
What kind of career path would the students take after completing the course?

日本語あるいは他の専攻分野の研究を続けるため大学院に進学する学生、日本や本国で就職する学生、在籍中の大学に戻る学生もいます。
Some students proceed to Graduate School to study Japanese Language further or their major subjects, some find jobs
in Japan or in their countries, and some return to their universities.
