One of the reasons why I chose Waseda University is that my colleagues in my home institution recommended the professor who is in this university. He is my adviser now and I believe that studying under his supervision will make me grow in the field.I have chosen.
School life in general is not that easy, but I am really enjoying my stay in Waseda. At first I encountered some language difficulties, but as time goes on, I got used to it.Anyway, one can learn to speak Nihongo here. Actually, I enjoy my Nihongo class whereI made friends and acquaintances from different countries. Also, in the laboratory that I attend, I got Japanese friends who are kind and willing to assist in any way they can.
The masteral subjects I am taking are challenging. They make me think and study harder. One could feel that these subjects are preparing students and laying down the steps to the staircase of educational success.
One can observe Japanese culture academically and socially. For example, there are undergraduate students, seminars where graduate students give comments on their reports and of course the wonderful Nomikai where everybody drinks in celebrating special events or occasions.
As I continue my studies in Waseda, I expect to enhance my Nihongo. Also, with the requirement to report regularly, I expect my reporting and presentation skills to improve. But most of all, I am looking forward to gaining more knowledge in my chosen field under my "sensei" in this great university. |
