All documents must be written in Japanese or English.
If the original document is written in another language, Japanese or English translations must be attached. The "Study Plan" for the Intensive Japanese Language program application must be written in Japanese.

Photocopies of documents will not be accepted. Please confirm that all documents have been provided and all procedures are completed.  If any items on the list have not been completed, your application will not be accepted.

As a supplement to your application, you may add an English translation of your Study Plan.
Evaluation Form

* Must be completed by an academic instructor with good knowledge of the applicant.
Certificate of Japanese Proficiency
< Note >
* All applicants must submit this form if applicable.
Certificate of Enrollment issued by the home institution.
< Note >
* This document verifies current student status and expected graduation date from home institution.
* If the applicant has attended graduate school, certificates of graduation from that university should also be submitted.
Official Undergraduate and Graduate Transcripts

* If the applicant has attended graduate school, certificates of graduation from the graduate school should also be submitted.
5 Color Passport Style Photographs (3 x 4 cm), 1 for visa and 4 for program application.

* Taken within 3 months of application.

One of the 5 photographs should be affixed to the Application. On the back side of the other 4, please write your name and nationality.
You cannot apply to both the JASSO and MEXT scholarships at the same time.

Application Guideline for the Monbukagakusho (MEXT) Scholarship

* September admission only.
* Exchange Students who are interested in the MEXT Scholarship are required to submit 2 sets of application documents, one for the exchange program and one for the MEXT Scholarship.
* Final results will be decided by the Monbukagakusho Scholarship Office, not by Waseda University.
Monbukagakusho (MEXT) Scholarship Information
* Application is open to exchange students nominated by partner institutions in all countries which have official diplomatic relations with Japan.

* This statement must indicate that you have an equivalent of AT LEAST 1,000,000 YEN in your bank account. This total may include your scholarship / bursary.
Certificate of Scholarship

* Only for scholarship exchange students.
* An official certificate from the organization that issues your scholarship indicating the amount and duration.
