1. The JASSO Scholarship
The JASSO (Japan Student Services Organization) scholarship is open to all exchange students nominated by Waseda University partner universities. In order to qualify for this scholarship, students must pass both a Waseda screening process and a JASSO screening process (only applicants with a minimum G.P.A. of 2.30 on the JASSO evaluation scale are eligible to apply). JASSO will provide the following financial assistance through the host institution in Japan (as of
October 2011):
(1) Scholarship (80,000 yen per month)
(Travel and Settling in Subsidy
will not be provided from 2011)

2. Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho, Ministry of Education,
Culture, Sports, Science and Technology: MEXT) Scholarship

The MEXT scholarship is open to all exchange students nominated by Waseda partner universities in countries that have official diplomatic relations with Japan. For general information and details on how to apply, please click here.
The admission period under this scholarship is limited to September. April admission is not available. In order to qualify for this scholarship, students must pass a Waseda University screening process and a MEXT screening process.

Only undergraduate-level students are eligible to apply for The Intensive Japanese Language Program under theMonbukagakusho(MEXT) Scholarship. Graduate students can apply for The Intensive Japanese Language Program as “Exchange Students”and are eligible for the JASSO scholarship.
