In the OAS Network Program, the OAS will embark on specific and closely-tied collaborative and/or joint research projects with other international research bodies dedicated to Asian Studies in the world, and will offer support and assistance to facilitate networking for scholastic exchange between researchers and graduate students. Furthermore, the OAS will support both domestic and international research and studies centered on fieldwork, help in the collection of research data/materials, and collaborate in various research activities. As substantial networks and communication between people will help create future Asian studies, within Japan OAS will offer the Asia Salon, as a place for Asia-related researchers to exchange information. In enhancing Asian studies, the OAS will reach out, not only to universities and research bodies, but also to the general audience, to expand knowledge and understanding about Asian issues. OAS will accomplish this by hosting Asia Seminars and hosting, co-hosting, and sponsoring international symposiums, inviting media cooperation, thereby offering a platform to enlighten and disseminate Asian studies.
