International Accounting Professional Program (2-year program)

Challenge the international business world.

Educational Features

As business world becomes more globalized, to study the accounting standard and tax law in U.S. becomes even more important for accounting professionals who seek to contribute internationally. In the International Accounting Professional Program, courses focus on the important issue of U.S. accounting, with the goal of nurturing a new generation of accounting professionals who have an international outlook and a strong sense for business management.

The feature of the program is that students study abroad in the University of Hawai'i for one year. By adding the 7 classes with 21 credits from the University of Hawai'i and 39 credits from Waseda University, students can acquire both Waseda University’s MBA and the SOA's Master of Accounting degree. By fully using Japanese and English as a communication tool, the program offers a superb level of accounting knowledge for those preparing to become truly global accounting professionals.

Features of the Curriculum

With the 7 courses from SOA closely coordinated with our program, students will be able to reasonably complete work in U.S. accounting, tax law, and business. Also, those sucessfully completing all of the SOA courses are automatically qualified to sit for the USCPA (U.S. Certified Public Accountant) exam in the State of Hawai'i.

This program requires a TOEFL score of at least 600 for non-native English speakers. However, applicants with a score of at least 530 may apply for the program on the condition that they sucessfully complete a University of Hawai'i English Language Institute course provided over the internet (seperate tuition will be charged for this class).
